By a Nose

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Dora loves noses. If she manages to sneak herself onto a lap, she will enjoy the back rub and the head scratch while she plots her next move. She will carefully manuever herself into a position so that a nose is in view.

With stealth precision, Dora strikes like a cobra.

She loves to lick noses.

Dora Mae snorkels. Sometimes she snorkels in a way that is easily spotted. Other times she snorkels in stealth mode.

She sleeps under her blanket, snuggled down for her cozy, relaxing nap.

And she pokes her nose out. For air? For temperature control? To keep an ‘eye’ out for invaders?

Sometimes Dora jumps on her daddy’s chair to get away from her sister, Thelma Lou. I can’t help but laugh that she wants her own space and will move from chair to chair, blanket to blanket to find some peace and quiet.

I think she is a hoot.

Velvet Tummy

I love watching Dora Mae while she sleeps. Many times she rolls over onto her back, upside down. Other times she uses the couchbed for her pillow, sleeping sideways.

When Dora is sleeping like this, I just want to rub her velvety tummy and kiss her nose.
